電子水なるものを見聞きしたので構造を計算しました。

[おやくそく]あくまでもネタとしてお読みください。この記事の内容や私の経歴・肩書きを商用利用することはおやめください。

電子水というものがどんなものなのかはよくわからないのですが、どこかのメディアで取り上げられたとかどうとか。

電子水の実際の構造がどんなものなのかはわからないのですが、多分水分子が電子を受け取ったものなんだろうと勝手に想像して、DFT計算での構造最適化を無理くりにやりました。今回も反省はしていません。

まずは計算用の入力ファイルを作成しました。

3D分子モデリングアプリで水分子の構造を作り、そこから座標データに変換しました。そいつに計算パラメータを追加。

今となってはクラシックなB3LYP/6-31G(d)。水分子が1電子受け取っているので、電荷(ICHARG)は-1。1電子受け取ったということは水のラジカルアニオンということなので、開殻系(SCFTYP = UHF)、2重項(MULT = 2)での計算。

計算結果は…

構造は一応最適化されました。

まずは普通の水分子の構造から。

赤色のが酸素原子、グレーのが水素原子です。酸素原子1つと水素原子2つで水分子。H2Oですね。

計算では、水素原子と酸素原子の距離は0.989Å、水素原子-酸素原子-水素原子の角度は103.6ºです。Wikipediaに記載されている数値はそれぞれ0.958Å、104.5ºですので若干の違いはありますが、変な値ではないとは言えます。

では電子水、ではなかった電子を1つ受け取った水はというと…。

図だけでも若干の違いがわかりますね。

水素原子と酸素原子の距離は1.083Åで、「ふつうの」水分子のものより長くなっています。角度はそれほど変わってはいない模様。

ちなみにこれがSOMO。きのこの山。
