奄美特産の「花田のミキ」を飲みました。

連休に宮崎と鹿児島へ行ってきたんです。どちらも20年ぶりのこと。

東広島から高速で宮崎県内に入り、無料区間とか通りながら宮崎市内に到着し、青島観光をして一泊。次の日に高速で鹿児島市内に入り、仙巌園をまったり散策して、指宿まで行って砂に埋もれ、鹿児島のうまいものを食ったり買い物をしたり。福岡でうどんでも食いたかったのですが、時間がなかったので古賀SAのごぼ天うどんでOKにしました。

旅の途中の鹿児島県内、指宿のスーパーだったか、霧島のA-Zはやと(ここは広かった!)だったか忘れましたが、鹿児島でしか売ってなさそうなものを物色していて出会ったのが、「花田のミキ」です。

最初これ、牛乳由来の乳酸飲料かなと思ったんですよね。でも商品を置いてあるところが乳製品コーナーから離れたところにあって、なんか違うんかなあとパックに書かれた原材料を見てみると、サツマイモとか米とか、牛乳とは全く関係ないものが並んでいるではないですか。

そりゃ乳製品コーナーじゃないところにあるわなと。

「奄美特産?奄美に行かなくても買えるのか。」

物珍しさに500mLのを1パック買って帰り、そのまま冷蔵庫へ入れといたんです。数日後、そう言えば買ったんだよなあと冷蔵庫の中の花田のミキを出してみると、

出荷後も発酵進んでるの?マジ?

酸っぱくなってないだろうな?と不安になり、これは急いで飲まねばとグラスに出しました。おかゆと甘酒の中間のようなドロドロ感。幸い発酵は進み過ぎていなかったようで、飲んでみたら見た目通り、いやそれ以上にガツンとくる味でした。これメシの代わりになるよな。
