基質に対して触媒量のTi(OiPr)4とHFIP(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol)溶媒下でアルケンとアルコールを分子間で環化させ、置換テトラヒドロフランを立体選択的に得る反応に関する論文のようです。

Supporting Informationを見ましたが、基質の合成や反応の例が多そうです。基質の中にはジヒドロフランから合成したものもあるようで、ジヒドロフランの環状構造を破壊した後に環状構造を再構築してテトラヒドロフランにするという、なんとも妙ちくりんなこともやっているようですが、案外いいやり方なのかもしれないとちょっと思いました。

他、Supporting Informationにスチレン化合物の合成例がたくさんあるので何やってるのかなと一瞬思いましたが、次のステップでGrubb触媒下でのオレフィンメタセシスで本チャンの反応の基質に持って行くとか、ジベンゾフラン合成を狙ってるのかなとか、色々頭に浮かびました。

合成した化合物からどのような反応例としているのか、また、反応機構がどのように推定されているのか興味があるので、読みたい論文に追加です。HFIPの役割も気になるところで、単純なさん触媒なのか、Ti(OiPr)4と反応してよりルイス酸性の高いチタン種を作っているのか、Ti(OiPr)4と基質がアルコール交換を行わないようにするためとか、本文を読む前から色々思いつきます。


Supporting Informationのスペクトルチャートが実験項から切り離されているのが印象的でした。
