フッ化アルキルのフッ素原子をヨウ素原子や脱離の容易な官能基に置き換える手法について報告しているようです。小スケール反応だけでなく、より大きなスケールでの反応についても検討し、合成上の有用性もアピールしている模様です。

シリル化合物のケイ素原子とフッ化アルキルのフッ素原子の親和力の強さをうまく利用した反応と言えるでしょう。要旨やSupporting Informationを読んでいると、反応の溶媒は1,2-ジクロロエタン。ハロゲン系溶媒を使用しても溶媒が反応することなく基質のフッ化アルキルが反応していくということですね。ケイ素化合物のうまい使い方です。フッ化ベンジル化合物特有の反応なのかなあと思いましたが、そうでもない様子。

求核剤については、硫黄系、窒素系、臭素系、酸素系、炭素系、ヒドリドなど、広めに検討を行っているようです。アリル基の導入もできるのですね。これはPd触媒とかは不要なのでしょうか。

この反応にはルイス酸が必要なようで、このルイス酸が反応にどのような関与をするのか、すごく気になります。そんなわけで、読みたい論文に追加です。
